thanks, let me see those pics of your set up, sounds neat, i am really wanting to leave the factory airbox on, this bikes all origional a true needle in a haystack, and i have two! I want to keep it oem as possible but thought i could go to local bike shop and get a generic filter and cut it too fit ...

Spree air filter? Can I amke my own?
Can I make a apre air filter by moding another similar filter off the shelf or do i have to use am oem fit one? I have made these before by finding something close and cutting it too fit for a lot cheaper too!

Heres the dilemma, gotta a second 85 spree but i dont think bystarter is good, tested it but think its burned up from testing it too long? Is there a way to rebuild these, or repair them and if not why are the ones on ebay frowned upon? Are they junk or knockoffs? The local dealer can order them for ...

Hey guys, it was the auto bystarter, um i mean byfarter, so now i got one running, and the oil pumps working i suppose as its putting out a drop of oil every 5 seconds or so. Thanks guys, tested compression, its working great and easily blows finger off of plug hole when truning over. I just tried a few times again to start it and it keeps firing 2-3 times then wont firs again till i remove the plug and dry it off. I mean this thing may totally internally floooded or ...

I have the same problem with my 85' i am working on. I ahvent checked the reeds but assmed with only 120 miles theyd be good. Should i check them? Mines sometimes has mist coming out the intake after starting attempts, whats up with this and does yours do it also
