Timing curves experiments

Hiya everyone.
Sold my aero awhile back, but I'm back here to share some info once I get some honda cdis.

I have been getting into documenting oem Cdi boxes timing curves. I have heard thru a friend that some honda boxes have a substantial retarding timing curve.
This is a great thing because by ...

Hydraulic press, uses?

My buddy wants to give me a hydraulic press,
it's got big piston mounted downward and it's on a stand.
Most presses I've used are the geared type, and they work great to press in bearings, etc....

I was wondering if I can even use it for anything....any uses for scoots?
Would it be helpful to press ...

Re: shielded air filter

Wasn't there a Picture of a guy running one o those motorforces in the under seat box? I imagine that would really cut out intake noise.
I made one awhile back with a shampoo bottle.
Works awesome at reducing noise.
I love your adjustable air intake though...
As long as it doesn't open too wide by ...

Yep, for whatever reason,
They turned to dust in less than 300 mi.
I couldn't believe it. Maybe a variator problem,
But I've never seen a roller die so fast.

Resistor in bystarter circuit, NB50?

I'm making a very stripped down version of an NB50, removing most of the wiring harness.
I made sure everything was set and wired right and it fires up no prob.
Kill switch is Black/white to green.
All I'm keeping is the bystarter choke as an "extra"......

When I looked at the wiring diagram in ...

Re: elite rattling on coasting/deceleration

This is crazy, I was just searching about this because
I spent all day today trying to solve this high pitch rattle coming from my top end.
I used a new piston/newish rings, with the old bore which didn't look out of spec too bad.

It seems to happen mostly at deceleration, but is there at idle as ...

Re: Blasphemy- CH250 Motor into Elite 50

Wow, what a load of crap this thread turned into.

I have a ch250 and the radiator is very small,
But it is aluminum.
The thing stays cool even in the very hot weather
Without the fan even engaging.

As for a hub, early helix hubs work.

The motor swap would rule, as this thing is FAST!

Re: Questions on compression, squish clearance and pipes

OK, here is my 2 cents on why majority of these guys are burning down their BBK. TOO MUCH CARB! Which makes proper fuel distribution next to impossible to achieve. If they want to run a BIG carb they should be running a CV style carb instead of these slide carbs. *, my Aero 80 has a factory spec of ...

Re: Time needed for proper break in.

As for break-in, I'm easy on the motor for about 5-10 minutes,
then I ride it like I stole it (as long as jetting is right)
Obviously, if jetting hasn't been established, that needs to be done first.
Using good synthetic oil from the beginning will seat rings just like dino oil.
Haven't seized nor ...
