Well if that glob is normal, then im still stuck as to what the problem is with the kickstart.portable wrote:click on the "board index"(above) look under "technical documents" and look for "how to clean my carburator" and "How to add kickstart to an 84/85 Honda Spree" there are some good pictures that show some some of ,if not all of the things your interested in. the picture that you posted of your kicker gear shows a "glob" of weld near the end of the teeth on your half moon gear. that is like that from the factory. it is used as a stop for the return travel of the kicker gear. a new gear that i just recieved also has that.
I looked through the pictures. I didnt take any pictures of the Bendix while it was inside of the bike, so im not sure what your seeing. Looking through those pictures, i didnt see anything that would be out of place.portable wrote:have you tried to go to the tech. articals i've mentioned on this site? look up "how to install a kickstart on a '85 spree". it will show you som great pictires of what the gears should look like when you go to apply the cover to the scoot. its hard to tell but the picture you posted seems like your bendix gear (the part that contacts the teeth on the starter gear/flywheel
is off to the side and not engaged with the teeth on the half moon gear. please try to look up these articals on this site. the pictures are priceless.
