AFO5E Spree ?? Whats involved.

Post by AstroVannin »

Before I rush out to buy somthing I cant use.. I was wondering what would be the challenge in swapping the AFO5E engine assembly onto my Spree.

I was originally wanting to go with a Dio engine, but if this is cheaper / easier / nearly as good, thjen I would probably go this route. If this a brutal NOOB question, I apoligize, but its all new to me.

I would assume a modified engine and shock mount at the least.

What would the wiring implications be?

It all depends on your mechanical aptitude. if you can weld and solder, you should be all set.

When you work on weirdo cars ... you know how to weld, ha ha ha

Would it be more or less the same procedure as the Dio swap then>?

that is for an af16e(dio), also called SA50.

I've still got that AF05 Spree setup for sale. Engine needs going through. otherwise it's a bolt-in. If interested, hit me up soon; movers are showing up next Tuesday and once it's packed up it's MIA for the next few months:

IF that was a DIO swap ... that would be another story.

I didn't need a new shock mount when putting a Dio into my 89 Elite E. I lowered the engine mount tipping things in the right direction. I also took out the inner gas tank cover. I am running a 90 series pirelli rear tire.
