Rear tube keeps popping...

Post by razzamatazm »

Hey guys, not sure if you can give me any insight on this one, but it's worth a shot...

I've had to change my rear tube probably 3-4 times in the past year due to flat tires. In the meantime, I've also changed the actual tires in case they were the culprit. I've felt along the inside of the rim, and it feels smooth. Am I doing something wrong? I inflate to the recommended PSI...

Thanks for all your help!

how about down the center of the rim? also check the air valve itself sometimes those work loose and come unscrewed enuff to leak air.

im not sure about a scooter but on my bmx bike i will wrap the inside of the rim with electrical tape to cover the spokes if the original rubber one is gone.

are you inflating it then letting the air out with pressure and refilling before the first use x2 sometimes the tube bends and that helps straighten it out.

hope that helps

I will try these recommendations...

Do you guys know if you can get a tubeless tire on an elite 50?

Greetings:

Running without a tube in a tube-type rim is not recommended and can be dangerous. The bead can unseat going over sharp bumps resulting in instant deflation, loss of control and Serious Injury or Death. A Met rim fits and is tubeless-type. Wider at 2.15" too, it fits the profile of a bigger tire better. If the tire's new and the rim has no sharp protrusions, either you're pinching the tube on installation or you're just having a run of bad luck.
