1987 Elite S, good for mods?

The place to discuss rides, accessories, or whatever is tangentially Spree/Elite-related

Well, I pulled the trigger last night.

Needs a new battery (or charged). Had a broken front right blinker (just the reflector piece). Had half a key busted off and stuck in the under-the-seat key slot. Otherwise in MINT condition.

Got it down to $600. Here's a couple photos:

Got it up to 40mph today, just what I wanted!

Sitting on the seat, I need the front-right reflector (it's just gone). Question: will this work?

Thanks again for all your tips and info all!

Forum Loathing

Post by Wheelman-111 »

Greetings:

You got that for $600?! You may have to forgive the Forum if it now loathes you. That's just sick. I do like the way it changes color in different light...

Obviously we're seeing pics of two different scooters. Is either one like yours?

No, that lamp is from a scooter 17,991 years in the future. :) Evidently Honda-san will still mount his blinkers recessed into the handlebar fairing, while yours appear to be attached on either side of the glove cubby. They do look a lot like Aero or spree items, but they shouldn't be too costly (~$12?) at Honda, if they're still available. The right one is Honda Part Number 33402-GN2-672

Congratulations on a great score!

Most of my money is spent on scooterparts. The rest is just wasted.

Is it the turn signal thats broken or is it the circle reflector?

If its the turn signal lens on off of an 87 Spree will fit.

If its the circular reflector, many many Honda bikes share the same one...

Nice find

To my knowledge both of those pics were of the scooter. I think he just tweaked the contrast or something in photoshop. So, yeah?

Thanks!! Yeah, the one that is broken is not the side, circular reflector. It's the front reflector that covers the blinker light. So that part number is probably the one... I tried calling a couple local places to see if they could order this and they couldn't. Anyone have a good spot that can order and ship it? Should any Honda dealership be able to do this?

Thanks again all for your comments and insight!

No extra reg fees here in Oregon. My Spree had a title but tags had expired in '97, just had to pay the title x-fer and registration fee. Thank god there was no penalty because $85 for that was enough!
