I just got a free Honda Spree today and it doesn't start. Not suprising as it's been sitting covered outside for quite a few years. Where do I start?

Parts can usually be found on here or ebay. Some parts, you just wont find. lol
WIthout a doubt you'll need to clean the carb out. this is hardest part about the spree's. look up the carb cleaning posts.
Check your compression before ya tear it apart. might still be ok? Lets see some pics of it and let us know what yr it is.

Well today I did quite a bit with this bike today. I found out it is an 87 spree. The engine couldn't turn over because the piston was fused and wouldn't budge. So I took apart the engine cleaning things as I went down including the carbourator. And after taking the head off I put liquid wrench to try and dislodge the piston, it moved a little so I'm letting it soak over night in the liquid wrench. So now I know I am going to have to rebuild the top part of the motor and I was wondering if this kit would cover the things I need to do it: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Honda-Sp ... leQ5fParts

Next I need to find an air box top cover because mine is missing. Getting a battery and sparkplug as well as new tires in the next few days.

A better penetrating oil than any of the commercial ones is a 50/50 mix of ATF and acetone. I know it sounds crazy but it really works. Liquid wrench is low on the list of penetrants to use.

Bear is right about he 50/50 mix of acetone and ATF. I have been using it for years when doing restoriations on cars.
I brush it on and let it set for an hour or two. Use gloves.
I bought a parts car out of Houston 3 weeks ago. Brushed on the mix and had it torn down completely in 4 hours. BTW thanks for everyone's help last year. I put the Spree up for the winter in Nov. Last Friday I dedicated 3 hours to getting it started again and ready for race season. I kicked it twice to see if it would turn over and the beast started. It's all ready for Hallett Motor Raceway this weekend
keep smiling
