getting a K&N wouldn't help ur situation imo, only hinder it. how sure are u about the compression? and what color is the spark? tried new plug yet?

i'm very sure about compression. disassembled the engine just to get a peek inside. everything seems to be fine..

and yes i have a new plug in now. the plug is blue/white, but it's not as loud as a spark should be...

1. make sure both the fuel and vacuum lines are snug on the nips or it wont get any fuel because it needes vacuum.
2. cover the carb intake with a clean rag (if you dont have a filter or air box, because it needs suction)
3. read manual and make sure the air screw is adjusted correctly according to the year of your spree.
4. clean out the carburetor with cleaner, or if thats not available use some compressed air.

hope this helps you out, keep us updated

if you have spark then your stator fly wheel and pick up is working well. The regulator does not tend to go bad but your cdi could in which at most it well have your bike running funny. In my case it wasn't reving high yet tend to run hot.
