After getting the 84 NQ50 Spree up and running and taking a final run around the block the Spree is now completely disassembled. This is my first Spree and I decided to restore it back. We have gone through the drive line and now we are getting ready for the cosmetic finish.
Plan:
Satin black wheels
Satin black frame
Satin black forks
Flat white farings
Black floor mat
Seat recovered
Rear rack unsure? Want it black but not sure on how to un chrome it.
Done:
All lenses have been tinted smoke colored.
We rebuilt the clutch.
Replaced the rear drive pulley.
Replaced the belt.
Rebuilt front and rear brakes.
Cleaned and lubed oil pump.
Rebuilt carb.
Cleaned gas tank.
Cleaned oil tank.
Sorry so long winded, I just got excited after seeing it in parts and knowing how it will look finished. I think my Goldwing is nervous after seeing all the parts laying next to it.
wish me luck fellow Spree lovers!

Yes the VHT "clear black". Friend did his Scion and had some left over. They came out very good. I'll post pics as soon as I get it back together.odinxxix wrote:sounds very interesting!! did you use that VHT "clear black" spray to tint the lenses? i cant wait to see the machine.!

Pics soon. I some of it tore down. Now I just have to get it back together.bradthreee wrote:In for Pics
CB900F I may still hit you up for that cover if I don't blow my budget and you still have it. I wonder why no one has taken one and just made fiberglass replacements from an orignal. Seems like someone could make a little money with a replacement cover. If I manage to get one I think I'm going to try and make a negative mold.
Re: wish me luck fellow Spree lovers!
Not a bad idea Big Guy, I recently looked into resin casting and mold making. This seems like a viable option.

Did some painting this weekend. Tore the forks down and re-greased the slides. Hope to get the plastic painted next weekend. I hope to have the engine, forks, and wheels on this week to get it back to a roller.
