Also I think it may be running lean, it starts to splutter under high throttle and runs better when I manually gas off.
Re: Help with stock spree?
most likely it isnt 83. as they werent out til 84. you can buy a bbk kit and gears from board member tazland001(chop chop123 on ebay) he is the only one to have them. there isnt any rollers to change as it is a single speed trans. you could go to a 3.00X10 tire. running lean. check out your air filter if it is bad it needs replaced if not wash and dry it re oil with some 10W-30. check your carb settings. top screw is 1 1/2 out and the bottom gets adjusted close to the same but do plug chops to verify should be a cardboard color. o and also if you go bbk hit up toboggan on here for the cyl head machineing. you may need to clean that carb and then do it again and again. no joke nobody here has done it right the first time. then you should be in the ballpark with the lean condition. up jetting you wont need unless you bbk it or use an open pod air filter

Re: Help with stock spree?
"Stock(ish) airbox" is probably why it is running lean. With the Spree you either leave the air box alone or end up screwing around forever trying to get it back to where it was to start with. If there are any mods done to the air box you need to stop riding the scooter until you get a bigger main jet or restore it to stock.

I recommend the finest Italian 16x13 in the 4.9 gram weights. Then send them to me when you discover your Spree has no variator for them. What weight rollers should I get?

I think the download link for the 84-87 manual is broken though.
