The most cost effective way is to sell it and buy a later faster scooter.

or a motor swap. Everything could be found for that price, if you find someone willing to help

hey trafficjamz, do you have a thread detailing what you did to upgrade yours? I have access to pretty much all the usual tools (compressor, air grinder, dremel, etc) and some time to tinker with mine. I don't need 40mph, I'd be very happy with 35mph and good acceleration.

oops, i forgot to log t-jamz out... that would be my spree. there is no thread on it, but i broke it yesterday, so when i tear it down and re-assemble, i"ll show off the details, and probably make a few more improvements. gimme a week or so, though, i"m assembling the spree-dio right now.

You can easily find the SE50 motors for $100 or less. Add in other odds-and-ends needed for the swap and it can be done for $200.

That way you could do 40mph with an essentially stock engine and not be stuck with a maxed out Spree engine.

i bought all my parts for 200 (not including performance parts) And you probably couldn't ever get the performance my stock motor had, out of a spree motor (maybe when a variator is designed.) A spree *could* top out faster than when my motor was stock, but the acceleration is a whole different world with a variator

if you were in an area where scooters are abundant, you could probably find a junk sa50 to rob a motor off of for cheap. Sometimes people want 400+ for everything everything for a motor swap on a dio, other people just want the thing out of there garage

ok so where do we find prices and descriptions of these aftermarket parts? Oh and any update on a cvt drop in for the spree? Seems like if someone would just come up with an easy to install cvt upgrade for the spree, most of our concerns would be solved. Beter low end acceleration and better top end with one upgrade.
