I have a spree that is a dedicated pit cruiser. The track speed limit is 10mph. I am wondering if there is any options to gear this down? I don't care if the top end goes down to 20 I just want it to pull harder on the bottom end.
It's a good running unit that behaves like the rest, nothing down low and pulls well above 10mph.
I have thought about seeing if the flywheel can be lightened to rev quicker???

I understand what you are trying to do.
If you can reduce the ratio of the pulleys in the case to more that 2:1 you should be good for mad acceleration and have a top speed of about 22mph.

It's the fuel shutoff. It came off of a Polaris snowmobile of some sort. My stock petcock didn't shutoff completely so I hit it with a drill to fully open it up and put this on. I think it cost $5 shipped on ebay. This thing is a trailer queen so I didn't want it flooded when I got to the track.
There is no more key,Hold the start button down till it dies. I modified the harness extensively. Three wires go to front now (ground, hot for the low beam, Kill) Two wires go the the rear(ground& hot). Everything else has been removed, signal circuits, gas gauge, oil light, brake lights, everything.
I got the pocket from a guy here. Can't remember who. $30-35 shipped if I recall.

Sorry, but unless you '86 has the higher gear ratio and you swap to the early ('84-'85) the only other optional gears are for faster, not slower. There is only one clutch and at this time no optional springs except whatever you can fab up. The Spree is a one speed transmission rig and as yet the is no Variator for it. Taz has on in the works, but as yet no available. Smaller tire is your best bet, but do they make anything smaller than 2.50X10?
