89 sb50p siezed kickstart

it runs fine except i also need the airbox unit but the kickstart is siezed up wondering if anyone has this problem it will wiggle a little but not kick anyone out there got any ideas

I know. The kick starter side will freeze up due to lack of lubrication. Another way it will freeze is the center gets to much play and gears start to mash. Check you kick starter half moon to see if the teeth are worn. then check the spindex teeth that the half moon gear tocuches. If the teeth are not spripped oil the spindex but make sure all excess oil is removed because it can cause belt slippage if you use to much.

thanks man i will tear into it.... if i take apart the casing that the kickstart goes into there isnt like some form of fluid that is gonna pour out int there its just like 6 case bolts and the bolt to take the kick lever off

you do not have to remove the lever. just the six bolts :thumbwink:

No fluids will come out or springs or snakes (that would be weird)

I need to know what year the iowa scooter is.

I have a good used kicker cover for sale if yours is messed up.
