carb intake size?

hey guys, anyone know what the inlet size on the carb on a stock 2001 elite sr? i'm looking at ordering a cone filter and dont know what size inlet i need, need more air with my #85 jet!

Greetings:

It's 27mm. A UNI pod 1" angled filter will squeeze on. Remove all traces of fuel & oil using acetone-soaked Paper towel to be sure it stays on.

I thought that after cleaning, take some 220 grit sand paper and sand around the flange so the marks go around the flange would help retain a filter. Then there is always using some glue that is used to retain door molding on a car.

both are nice ideas, cool

have had times where i could've saved a road flying filter if put these ideas to use.. :oops: lol

If your going to run a uni filter with that 85 jet is going to run lean and seize. just punch out the second tab on the outer lid of the airbox and get the 88 jet from a 88-93 elite 50 lx/sr

d*** really? i already ordered the uni pod filter and it came in the mail already, but still waitin on the #85 jet..
