Pay no attention to WiGuy! I like your Aero's "Rat" look. Can you show me the mount for that Wal-Mart sidestand? I was just looking at one last night! Might spring for one myself... $6.95, right?
Ill get some pics of how I mounted it today for ya. It is the $6.95 Bell from Wally World! Beats the old milk crate I was using before!
I basically just drilled the hole for the supplied bolt, then bolted it up and used some blue thread locker on it and added a loc-washer for a peace of mind.

Every now and then. Sorry that my over-spray bothers you.
You can feel free to do it however you want, but taping off...

1. Only takes a minute or two.

2. Greatly improves the final look.

3. Saves time on clean-up.

4. Prevents the "half-a**ed" look.

[And a side note, my dad would KILL me if I got paint on our concrete, as would pretty much all landlords]
I agree with you completely.
But I did fix the red over spray above it. I just came in from spraying the first coat of flat on it.

Im going to get the paint off the concrete today. I got some of it off last night, now to just scrub it and wash it.

It runs great!
Got a Uni pod filter on it.
Finished my transmission tuning
Currently I am fixing the paint work on it.
I painted the bolts for the clutch cover and the bolts that hold the front farring on the same red I used on the rims and then put a couple coats of clear to protect them. They look great!
Then I painted the exhaust with BBQ paint. And then the engine shrouds got a coat of red paint. Then I painted the fan cover and added a red stripe going down the middle of the cover.
Pics either tonight or in the AM.

A problem did come across though....
the lost title issue is turning out to be a big pain in the *. Im going to try to get it taken care of this week, and if not. I may end up parting it out or making it a race scoot.

Looks great, and I am sure it is fun to be out riding again. Is the shroud painted in high temp paint, or just regular rattle can? I just wonder about the paint burning off during hot riding conditions.

I used high temp engine enamel for the shrouds.

Greetings:

I like it, Mad Max-style!. But Good Heavens! Some ne'er-do-well has absconded with your proper 50 cc AF engine and stuck you with an 80!!

Is the engine mount limited to the two (thin) frame protrusions? That rubber plug in the center of the engine mounts ensures pitch-axis stability. Be careful of wobbles around curves and watch that frame for signs of fatigue!

Also, what's holding up that gigantic muffler?

Kidding aside, nice job making this a runner!

you got it Plankton! Na, just kidding its held on with about half a roll of mechanics wire and a roll of duct tape painted black so its not visible.

But really, there is 2 bolts on the bottom of the muffler that blots onto the engine block

I think Honda-San should have taken this engine and put it in the Aero50 originally. The Aero80 frame and chassis is a tad heavy compared to this. This machine handles great! The nimble-ness of the 50 with the power of the 80 makes it a great general purpose cruiser.

I thought about doing the BBK and gears for the AF05E but that would have been more money than I paid for the bike and I had a spare Aero80 engine around then I got a great deal on the new-too-me one thats in it (thanks again Plankton!).

It was cheaper than doing a DIO swap and more original.
This was alot easier than I thought it would be too do the swap. Just the frame and change one connector and add a shock extender.

"tad" is an understatement
the frame w/ handlebars alone weighs 2x what the engine does.

It runs great! Starts right up all the time(had to turn up the idle today though, got kinda cold here in UT). If your not paying attention, this will knock you on your *. Especially with the light rollers I have in it.
The top speed I've hit so far is 37MPH (gps) and Im a rather large fellow.
