Newbie/New Spree Owner - Need Recommedations on process

IÔÇÖm not sure which topic this should be under so IÔÇÖll start here, if itÔÇÖs the wrong place, please let me know.

I picked up an ÔÇÖ87 Spree with 5000 miles on the clock and am starting a complete overhaul/restoration. Most of the parts are on it, but some items like the glove box and tail light assembly are pretty rough. IÔÇÖll be documenting it as I go so will have some picts to add to the forum as well.

I want the completed scoot to have a strong start off the line but am not all that interested in the most I can squeeze out of speed-wise. 30 to 35 mph would be just fine.
IÔÇÖve spent quite a bit of time reading the technical sections but am still a bit confused on the best route.

1. For a strong low end torque, would I be better off performing the intake mod & exhaust porting or should I just go with the 43 mm big bore kit? I donÔÇÖt want to alter my air box or play with different jetting in the carb.
-For either of the above, do I need to mess with a new gear and the pulley mod?

2. My plastic needs to be painted and a tab or two are broken off.
- Has anyone gone the route of automotive paint using the special additives to keep the paint flexible and if so, what brand did you use?
- How about the Krylon Fusion paints, has this held up to the flexing of the plastics and does it give the same quality finish as automotive paint?
- Portions of my side panels are scratched. Ordinarily I would sand and prime, but wouldnÔÇÖt the standard primer/surface crack/flake off? Do you guys prime your panels first?

3. The Broken tabs - Which method works the best?
- Using the solder Iron approach with ABS plastic weld sticks?
- ABS cement with fiberglass cloth?

everything that you need to know is in the tech or in the adv tech, you can also find alot of info that you seek on wikispreedia. all are well detailed and very infomative. with pics also.!!

Sounds like you chose the wrong scoot. There is a 44mm and a 48mm BBK offered for the spree. Don't bother with the pully mod or gears if you are happy with 30mph. You will have to re-jet though with either BBK.
