Need to know what can be done to help my 2001 elite go faste

I had a 99 elite SA50P and i put in a new high speed pulley and a new 9:1 gear ratio. Well that was stolen from me last week and I have insurance so I bought a 2001 elite with 2000 miles on it for $850. Thought that was a good price.

Im just not 100% percent sure I can add a new pulley and gear ratio to the 2001. Can someone verify that I can do that? Also, if I remember correctly there is a governor on the elites. How do i remove that?

My buddy did the work for me on my last scooter and i have since moved so I need to know what I can do with this one. The My last elite went around 50mph with the modifications and im looking to get the same out of my new one so I just need some guidance from my fellow scooter enthusiasts.

yes you can change the gears in your 2001 elite. try to get in on burnt_toast deal for 9:1 secondary gears. and not a gov but a restriction plate on your vari. remove it or just replace the vari with a KELI, PRODIGY, or what ever your choice.

I ordered my pulley and gears from Vtcyles in Hawaii last time. Would it be better to order them from there again with the pulley or get in on the deal with burnt toast?

Can you tell me how or direct me to figure out where I would be able to remove the restrictor plate?

and can you expand on the vari? Im not too familiar with it. And what is the difference/benefit between removing it or replacing it will the models you suggest?

if you remove the vari there might be a plate on the back that unbolts from it. what it does is restrict the movement of the ramp plate. but before you do that is this elite the SR or just the S.? i dont think the SR has this plate.(not 100% sure) mine is the elite S and it had the plate. and pm burnt_toast see if he still had the prodigy vari. if not somebody else on here sells them. PM, LIMP1144 on here, and also burnt_toast has the gears for the group buy. if not the again with the LIMP1144 ill post a pic later of the stock vari and restriction plate that i took from mine
