Hello! I haven't owned a scooter in quite some time. I just picked up an 87 Spree in GREAT condition! The only trouble is it seems to max out at 50Kph.
Aside from the bigger cylinder and piston route, is there anything a little smaller I can do to squeeze about 10 more Kph out of it??
Thanks so much!!
I just need 10 more Kph out of my 1987 Spree!! Any ideas?

Try running a 2.75" tire for a little more top speed.
Also search "pulley mod" and I think there is a different belt you can use to help squeeze a couple mor KPH out of it.

Thanks! I'll try the tire right away and look into the belt.

Not just any jetpack, an ACME jet pack. Biggest bang for your buck. Just ask any coyote.martynkim wrote:Jet pack

Greetings:
To get that much more speed, a 2.75 tire is a step in the right direction, but won't buy those 10 Kliks. See Taz for the taller gears, keeping in mind the Spree give-and-take between top speed and acceleration. Gears + a big-bore restore take-off to stock or better, while raising top speed. Most people here eventually swap in an SE/05 from and Aero or early Elite. The truly Addicted find an SA/16 from a late Elite or Dio model and fab an engine mount and relocate the shock.

How many miles on it?
Sometimes decarbonization and a good tuneup will unlock a few original KPH that was lost.
Its almost free to do and will only take a weekend to do.
Also if you dont already have some, go get some stuff called Seafoam. They sell it at your local autoparts store.
