**L00K! Sidestand on my Aero 50 Build! **

Here are the pics of my Aero with it's new sidestand installed. The sidestand is for the SA50, but it ended up fitting my Aero without any modifications. I now dont have to worry about my Aero tipping over due to the centerstand not being tall enough for the 90-90-10 tires and Metropolitan wheels. I really think it looks much better without the centerstand.

...I didn't know you are one of the "OG" Honda scooter guys... I read how you had an '87 Elite 16 years ago you had been tuning. Evidently alot of guys could get some serious speed and power out of the SE50 engine. I had heard a long time ago Daywot a.k.a. Patrick had an SE50 with the stock 50cc bore (ported) that was insanely fast.

I got the sidestand from elite_dub, who bought it in Hawaii for me.

It is made by Daytona. Kinda pricey, but well worth the money. It was a 15 minute, no hassle - "head scratching" install. The one I have is made for the SA50 frame, but fit my Aero perfectly.

Born and raised in the 808, moved away 9 years ago and live in Utah now...me and my friends started building bikes 16 years ago but really didnt have a clue what we where doing, my 87 had a 66cc bbk if I recall it been a while, it lasted for about a month before I blew it, Then I swapped in a Dio, wished I never sold that bike, I will see if I have some old pics lying around. it did plant the seed of love for the Honda 49cc.

As for maddog's Aero... it definitely does exist!

-He sent me pics a long time ago, and he also sent me some pics a few months back of some new mods he made to it, along with his engine build out of his scooter.
And yes... it is one freaking bada$$ bike. He has some parts that were hard to get even back in 2002-2004 when the "rare" Dio parts were easier to come by. I can't remember what headset he has on it, (I think it is a Dio Live ZX) but i made me want to convert my headset as well. He also has a set of Japanese billet aluminum rims and hubs.

-I know it sounds hard to believe that much cash in a scooter, but after building my Aero out of all the new OEM parts (i literally bought out the microfiche), as well as the performance parts, -it is totally possible. I would hate to total up all of my special order receipts to see just how much I have spent.

Somebody who is a fabrication wiz needs to get ahold of one of these and copy it, then mass produce it. I know I would buy one for a good price...
Looks good. I just wish my aero looked half that good.

Man, I wished maddog would post up his pics... it's a really clean, complete Aero build.
-Out of respect for maddog though, I can't post up his pics just because they are his to share and take the credit for, and I told him I would keep them to myself. Maybe when he gets to a completed stage he will share them.

Im with you 100%, Turtle- the sidestand would not be hard to fabricate and if it was made here in the 'States by another Honda scooter lover, then the sidestands would cost alot less.
-It took me a while to throw out the cash to buy one, but I can say that it is possibly the best $100 I have spent on my Aero. (just for the peace of mind of my scooter being SO much more stable.) Believe me; if you have taller wheels and tires, buy one!

Just picked up one of these side stands for my 1987 Aero 50.....it's SWEET!

Install is VERY easy....and it's VERY SOLID!

As for maddog's Aero... it definitely does exist!

I too have a couple pic's of Maddog's scooters from years ago. The guy does own, or has owned some serious machines. Very clean stuff.

I'm not going to post them up either, if Maddog wants his scoots shown off on this site then I am going to let him do it.
