engine turns over no spark

i have a 86 spree i put together from a few different sprees- no spark, question can i check the charging coil or pickup coil for resistance, if i put a continuity tester in the coil wire(plug wire) it lights up. i hve a charged battery, engage brake handle,have switch in run position, and - no spark. what should i test in the starting circuit and how. the harness looks good. thanks for helping the new guy!!!

That is the "owners manual"... not a "Service" one... the only electrical section is about checking the fuse.

I read on another thread a user posted useful information which actually described the procedure on checking the coils and everything... i will try to find it

spree had bad cdi that why motor will not run. Just change cdi and motor will run. No mind the book!
