I'm making a very stripped down version of an NB50, removing most of the wiring harness.
I made sure everything was set and wired right and it fires up no prob.
Kill switch is Black/white to green.
All I'm keeping is the bystarter choke as an "extra"......
When I looked at the wiring diagram in the service manual, there are only 2 connections to it.
Yellow coming off the stator, and Green/black which supposedly goes to ground, but first thru a resistor.
Anybody know what this resistor looks like in the harness, or what it's value/rating is?
No mention of this in the service manual.

In most Honda's it looks like a little rectangular metal box (potted) with 1 lead coming out. It is often bolted onto the frame or other metal bracketry for its ground connection. Gyro's have 2 leads... because they tie to a bracket mounted to the plastic airbox.
Resistance value is around 5-8 ohms (varies by model somewhat) and wattage about 5watts. The 88-93 SA50 is 5 ohms, not a bad guess for the Aero 50.
I think Honda has adjusted the resistance on some models to modify the warm up time of the bystarter to match the needs of a given model.
