I was referring to newer scooters in my post, not Elite 50's. Scoots like Ruckus, Metro, Zuma...evilone wrote:They are still not adjustable.eliteguy50 wrote:My bad Bear, I just realized that most of my newer bikes are running custom cables. No numb nuts. No adjustment = cheap junk cables.evilone wrote:We could all switch to the throttle cables off the Spree, aeros, or a quad just to make you happy

The OEM throttle cable for the 94-01 elite is not adjustable, don't know why but it's not.

Re: Now the Elite is TOO jumpy and herky querky II
How does the throttle adjustment make the scooter take of less quickly?
I have only ever used that adjustment to take slack out of the cable.
I agree with trains420 on this one. Taller gears will make it take of less "herky querky"
Why try to make the clutch slip more ? or put slack in the throttle cable?

A * take off can be caused by a throttle that goes from idle to 1/4 throttle instantly, hence adjusting the cable to acquire a slower and smoother transition from idle to increased throttle will solve the problem.

Wouldn't moving the needle clip position be a better option then?Bear45-70 wrote:A * take off can be caused by a throttle that goes from idle to 1/4 throttle instantly, hence adjusting the cable to acquire a slower and smoother transition from idle to increased throttle will solve the problem.

How he * would that change anything at all to do with her issue. Since the needle has no effect below 1/4 throttle. The needle is a mid-range adjustment.Trafficjamz wrote:Wouldn't moving the needle clip position be a better option then?Bear45-70 wrote:A * take off can be caused by a throttle that goes from idle to 1/4 throttle instantly, hence adjusting the cable to acquire a slower and smoother transition from idle to increased throttle will solve the problem.

How does the cable go from idle to 1/4 throttle "instantly", because of an incorrectly adjusted cable?Bear45-70 wrote:A * take off can be caused by a throttle that goes from idle to 1/4 throttle instantly, hence adjusting the cable to acquire a slower and smoother transition from idle to increased throttle will solve the problem.
How can adjusting the throttle cable affect anything but, when the throttle starts.

Adjusted to tight, has a kink in it or a tight turn. I've seen cables do some pretty weird things over the years.
