1986 honda spree throttle valve
In a 1986 spree NQ50 is the throttle valve and cable all one unit or can you replace throttle valve and jet neddle. The book say's after 85 the cap cannot be seperated from assembly without causing damage to the cable.Does this mean I have to replace the the whole cable with valve attached?

The replacement cable will come with the cap, and the cable end terminated with a cylindrical stop. You can release the spring tension on the throttle slide, and withdraw the cable from your old slide.

HELP! Which is bad. When I look down the throat of the carb, and turn the throttle handle, the throttle valve does not move. But the I see the the end of the throttle cable going up and down.Do I have a bad valve or cable or both.I have taken the carb apart and cleaned with same results.

Sounds like your throttle slide is hung up in the 'open' position. The slot in the throttle slide, (see previous pic) needs to line up with a small key inside the carb.

Re: 1986 honda spree throttle valve
Greetings:
The stock cable end features a little groove into which fits a tiny spring-steel circlip, which engages another groove in the cap. The cap can be separated sometimes, but it's not guaranteed. I'm batting .666 on my own attempts. One cable I had pulled right off with a generous pre-lube with penetrating oil. I was able to finagle the little chrome spring clip out of its groove with super-fine screwdrivers on another, but it took a half-hour of cussing and finger penetrations. The first one involved cutting with a Dremel: It wasn't pretty. Once you know how the cap is retained to the cable end, you see what you need to do to get it off.

Nice recovery - sometimes a heavy hand tightening down the throttle cable top assembly mushrooms that keying pin.OK throttle valve is fixed.Engine is running but I have gas coming out of a tube on the bottom of the carb bowl, any ideas
There are two tubes which may flow gas - the bowl drain, and the overflow. If it's the overflow - pull the carb bowl, clean and check the float needle. Some bits of crud may be impeding proper seating. The seat itself can cause problems, search this site on 'minty fresh' to find a typically humorous, and insightful repair from Wheellman-111.
If the bowl drain, unscrew the needle at the 3 pm position in the photo, and figure out why the carb bowl drain is leaking.
