one may ask, ben, why do you have most of your engine covered in blue tape?

a) I'm going to be shipping it to traffic sooner or later here
b) I don't want spiders nesting in any of the crevices
Thanks for not shipping me spiders
I don't like chi town spiders

so ... I am moved into my new place hopefully I can get the ball rolling again on this build. My 26mm OKO came with K112 for main and K45 for pilot, anybody think I will be ok with those jets for my setup?

Greetings:

What's the setup, Ben? There's a Malossi 72 somewhere on Page 1, but it took too long to read if it's installed yet.

Slowly building a stop and go city monster...
plans: stock crank, bbk, 26mm oko, ct mani, keli clutch yada yada yada
If at 72cc, those jets sound small in a 26 OKO. I have a 45 Pilot and a 120 Main in my 24mm OKO, and bigger carbs tend to need bigger jets. A lot depends on Pipe, Porting, disPlacement and rPm, but I'd suggest you start with a 48-50 and 125-128 main. It'll run like crap, maybe, but won't fry in a half-mile. Then drop a size at a time until temps, plug color and performance say stop.

May I suggest you update your setup in your Profile and don't keep us guessing? :)

ahhh hey sorry about that. I changed my setup. It's a 52mm Ruima BBK , 26 mm oko, oko intake manifold, small chrome polish air filter, pg 'typhoon' , pop pulley kit (weights, not sure) , 1500k rpm clutch torque spring, 1000k triple springs, keli clutch. what do you think about that?

Greetings:

I'd start with no smaller than a 50 Pilot and 155 Main, and hope it's rich so you don't cook that big but fragile 52 immediately upon ignition. If you started and ran it with the jets as equipped, I fear it may be too late. Fortunately for you, I have Flash 4.2 for sale... :)

haha I will keep that in mind. I haven't even got this thing assembled yet. I'm going to be sending my engine out to traffic one of these days. I just wanted to have all these jets on hand when then its time to put everything back together. I appreciate all your input.

Greetings:

Aside from new parts from your Friendly Honda Dealer, you can buy a rod of something called All-Thread in the M6 size. Find it at the Industrial Supply store in the Bad Part of Town. It's like 2 feet long, enough for a lifetime's supply of exhaust studs if you're handy with a hacksaw. I always use a dot of red LocTite to bond the studs into the threaded flange holes.

Use 2 6mm nuts (10mm hex head) screwed together to remove your studs from your old cylinder if the above sounds like too much trouble.

alright slowest build ever checkin in:

just got a set of main jets for the 26 oko in today. ordered from gxpengines.com
$15 + $5 shipping got me:

140,145,150,155,160

so I think I'll be ok on main jets

as for pilot jets. As I stated my carb came with 45 stock. So I have a size 50 coming from ebay. Should be here next week from taiwan .

That's it for now.

nothing but rain in Chicago this weekend

Decided to get started on some of the body work on this thing since Traffic has my engine

I painted every "non painted" plastic piece with OEM refresh trim paint (spray)
and I started working on my painted pieces, lots of JB weld patching up cracks, sanding... I mated the 2 rear sections with jb weld. Turned out pretty good.

I just have to figure out what I'm going to do about all the broken tabs on some of these pieces, especially on the headset

Greetings:

Very nice! I hope I'm wrong, but will now predict the JBWeld stuff won't adhere to the ABS plastic for long. At least you heard it here first, and it's not going to matter much if using the stock tail-lamp.

You know, I'm sure you have seen some videos from "DIOSPEEDDEMON" on youtube, he has literally hundreds of honda elite videos - how tos and what not

He used jb weld... I decided to try it... I cannot imagine this stuff cracking or going anywhere, it dries to an extremely hard state. I was going to pickup a jap rear tail light off ebay from daywot one of these days
