i rechecked for air leaks using carb cleaner(didnt feel like buying starter fluid just for this). and again there was no rpm increase. but i fully documented its behavior from cold to hot: cold starts easy but immediately starts w/ crazy high idle and back wheel spinning very fast and dies very quickly w/ out throttle, and even then she may die(does not bog out). after several of these episodes she will still start easy, have a very fast idle and spin the back wheel very fast but i can hold the brake, stopping the wheel and bringing down rpms(thats what it sound like anyways) and she will purr just fine. if i let the brake off its back to 100mph. but sometimes when shes warm she will idle just fine until i give it a tiny bit of throttle for a split second, then its looks like previously described. in this condition it rides just about perfect, but on the stand it goes bananas....

does this still sound like an air leak? or something else?

i had a buddys razz do the same thing couldnt find any air leaks at all so i took off the carb, (which is on werid on a razz and is a royal pain as well) sprayed the carb down inside and out and reset all screws to the factory settings (the mixture and idel, which someone really messed with) it was really touchy for turning and i did end up with a very sight high idle but not enough to mess with anything. ooo and i did a plug swap maybe you wanna go a step higher with your plug heat too you are trying to burn more oil with a plug for 50:1 so i need bear to fact check that to make sure it isnt just b.s. but try that aka Clean, tune, increase plug heat

it looks like i still have a leak at the exhaust port. i already replaced the gasket w/ a new OEM crush gasket. but i can't get it to seat/seal as burnt oil/gas is dripping onto the case below. one idea is 1 or both of the exhaust flanges is bent but that seems like a stretch. has anyone else had difficulty with exhaust seal on a taz bore?
