Found this on ebay, was wondering if I could make it work with my elite engine with an aftermarket intake.

Re: Question about carb for Elite.
As long as you have an aftermarket intake manifold that accepts a "spigot" type carb, sure, I do not see any reason it would not work -but keep in mind you will have to run a seperate cable for your choke.
Is there a reason why you are opting to use the Aprilia SR50 carb? Just wondering, because I have seen complete carb kits (Malossi, I think) that use similar Dell Orto type carbs and have the intake manifold and all the needed hardware included.
-You will definitely have to re-jet the carb to suit your Elite, as well. From my experiences, sometimes saving money on one part (like the carb) will end up costing you more in the end, when you add up buying your intake manifold, choke setup, multiple main and pilot jets to tune, possibly carbon fiber reeds, hardware, etc.
I will look to try and find the Malossi kit I mentioned for you- If I remember correctly it was not that expensive.
Later man, jon

Re: Question about carb for Elite.
There is a guy on a local forum parting an Aprilia SR50 out. He said he would sell me the carb with a choke cable for $20. I just purchased an intake and 19mm Molassi/Dellorto carb from another member on here. It came with an extra Spigot adapter and a bunch of jets. So I am thinking of adapting it to my spree with an 85 elite intake when I beef up the spree motor for my Urban Express project. Or possibly use the Sr50 carb instead of the 19mm on my Elite. I will have to look into it if the carbs use the same jets or not, thanks for the quick reply Jon!z50r-blank wrote: Is there a reason why you are opting to use the Aprilia SR50 carb?:

Re: Question about carb for Elite.
Oh... now I see why you are thinking of using that carb;
$20 is definitely a good enough reason!
Since you also have a choke cable setup and multiple jets that may work fr the SR carb as well, it sounds like you will definitely make the carb work. Just experiment with it and do your plug chops to make sure you are not running lean, and you will be set.
Nice find, dude!!
Let us know how it turns out!
