It's a hard-anodized carb venturi plate (like a velocity stack) that smooths the air going into the carb. It fits 21-30mm PWK style carbs.
I forgot to order the Stage-6 large inlet type air filter to go with it, though.... it will be here at the end of this week, along with a few other new Stage-6 parts.

I usually get my Stage 6 parts from Scootercraft. Scootercraft used to be in Canada, now they are located in Virginia... that means MUCH faster shipping!! I had to get my Stage 6 intake manifold from SIP Scootershop in Germany, because Scootercraft does not import them.

yeah those are nice been using them on my street motors at the track, lol got them like over a year ago. They have some nice stuff. I actually have the R/T prototype bore set up. got it from someone who used to do a lot of R&D work for them. Its stashed away in my jog parts
Even a short velocity stack is worth improved air flow whichs means more horsepower. On my race motor the factory claimed the short stacks were worth 18 horsepower over the same engine without them.

No, I am fortunate to be very good friends with one of the best 2 stroke engineers and designers plus prop guys that Mercury Marine ever had work for them. So Ron did all my props for my race boats and still does the props for my sport boats. But I know a couple of those guys. Way to much time on their hands.

Uh-huh, uh-huh, so let's see: I figure my Elite needs about 12HP to get to 65... If I add the Stage6 Stack, I'll be makin' uh... 12 plus 18 um, two and 8 and carry the 1 and .. Wow! 40?! Where's that link again Jon?

That was an additional 18 hp to the 250 the motor made before they added the stacks, smart guy.

I did but I'm gotten so I love your sense of humor and figure you might really think that would work. You know, "I reject your reality and subsitute it with one of my own!"

I'm glad to know that the velocity stacks (or "bell mouth" as Stage-6 calls them) actually improves performance a bit.
If Bear and Mr. Tru72 approves, then good enough for me!

LOL@jon!
Nah velocity stacks are a must in all race applications. I use them on all my street bikes as well. It defiantly changes the air speed"velocity" going into you carb, also make sure and check your jetting, it does change alittle. Plus they look KOOL! HAHA thats at least 5 more HP!
aloha

Oh, that's just Great! Now if I want a forty-HP Flash, I gotta find a filter with a 70mm, or what? a 2-3/4" connection?! That oughta be easy... NOT!
