86 Spree Turn signals HELP!
Im trying to get my turn signals to work. i have the lights and everything but when i plug in the wires and start the bike they dont light up. i currently dont have a battery but i was told they would just turn on and not blink. If some one could give me instructions how to hook them up properly i would appreciate it. any info would be helpful. THANKS!

They might turn on if you rev the engine up, idle will not produce enough juice to even light the lights. Get a battery is your beat bet or at least jumper one into the system.spree808 wrote:Im trying to get my turn signals to work. i have the lights and everything but when i plug in the wires and start the bike they dont light up. i currently dont have a battery but i was told they would just turn on and not blink. Down load the manual from the tech section and the wiring diagram is in there. The signal wires are color coded and the lights also require a ground, the green wire.

Re: 86 Spree Turn signals HELP!
You don't need any battery for the signals to work. I can take my batt out and the signals still work.

Some will work without a battery but most will not.Shmee wrote:You don't need any battery for the signals to work. I can take my batt out and the signals still work.

Re: 86 Spree Turn signals HELP!
thanks. any one know where i can get a turn signal relay? i also have a question about the green ground wires. which one do i plug them into? there are two green wires, the have two different terminal connectors though. one is round and the other is like a "B". also what kind of battery can i use?
Re: 86 Spree Turn signals HELP!
Any 2 terminal turn signal relay will work, so try your local auto parts store or even Walmart.spree808 wrote:thanks. any one know where i can get a turn signal relay? i also have a question about the green ground wires. which one do i plug them into? there are two green wires, the have two different terminal connectors though. one is round and the other is like a "B". also what kind of battery can i use?
Any green wire is the same ground. The "B" connector one is made to have two items plugged into it.
The Spree battery is a YT4L-BS or a YTX4-BS. Interstate batteries and Batteries Plus have them. Batteries plus has a sealed battery that I prefer XTAX4L-BS.
