that's becuse they are. he probably use the old 87 motor bolt and shimmed the motor.I drill the mount out and install the larger bolt which they use for the elite S.

yup yup. i understand theres a third way too, but ive never done it personally or even seen it done.

never heard of another way to mount an S motor on an 87. It's straight up.

that looks like the lotor you are talking about. Only because i can't see the pick up on the bottom like an S motor. The 87 motor has the pick up in the front like the japan motors.But i am just guessing.
