home made petcock

howdy,
has anyone ever made their own petcock,
well i dont mean from scratch, but bought maybe an inline valve, and just plugged the vacuum thing on the carb?
i think i'm going to have to do that to get my scoot runing this weekend.
well let me know if it works, or if its a bad idea.

Yes, you can do that. You might want to add a manual shutoff as used on lawnmowers from a small engine shop. Make sure to plug the vacuum at the engine.
