Stuck brake cable wont move an inch, ideas?

Post by Petrock's 1984 Spree »

The front brake cable on my Spree doesnt move at all. Ive tried flushing it with a little 3 in 1, but it would even go down the sheath. Then i went and got some industrial degreaser and tried to get it down in the sheath with a sharinge and needle. I did that a couple of times and still no movement at all. Any good tricks or ideas?

Get a new cable.

Brakes are too important to have sub par equipment.

Greetings:

Cables can corrode and seize, but so can the brake cam in the panel. Check to see that this isn't your real issue? If you're sure it's the cable itself, then don't compromise. Get a new one.

Learn to read, he already tried that. Besides a stick brake cable is the last thing you want besides a sticky throttle cable. Either one can injure or kill you.

I was a professional marine mechanic and we had a pressurized cable lubricator and I think I used it twice I think. It didned work and neither does the WD-40 straw. Be smart and be wise, get a new cable.
