Noiseguy rules! With SA50 manual

Post by ryanmcfinney »

Thanks for getting that up man! Can anyone tell me though is there any significant way my 1994 SA50 will differ from the info in that manual ( manual is for up to 1993 ) ?

Thanks again!

The '94+ (Dio) is completely different. If you get a copy of THAT manual, I'd like to scan it.

Looking over it it looks similar. What is different? Aren't the brakes and electrical and carb etc the same?

Mmm. The '94 should have the 50mm bore, not the 41mm bore used on the earlier models. If the engine looks the same, you should be good to go.

Mine is supposed to be a 94 elite sa50sr.

Is there a thread that talks about the differences? Has anyone tried to convert an old style to a dio or are they totally different?

If it's a 94 it is suppose to be a dio.

Prior to 94 most engines were 41x 37.4mm 94 & up was 39x41.4 a longer stroke, in 98 the trans washer was eliminated in the final drive making it weaker & in 2000 the sealed beam was changed to a replaceable bulb, my manuals have personal notes attached so they stay with me but i have sent a copy to a friend who no longer needs it, just pay shipping.

Right, the '84-87 Spree, 85+ Aero 50, and 87 - 93 Elite all had the above bore/stroke, from what I've found. I'd thought that the Dio was even larger bore than stroke, but that's apparently incorrect.

If your buddy has a copy of the Dio manual that he'll cut loose for shipping, put me in touch with him and I'll go get it, scan it, and post it.
