It would be great to develop some sort of a camera to mount inside the belt cover so we could see where the belt is riding on the pulley at the moment of top speed.

Neglecting belt slippage, given 2 tachs (front/rear pulley), this could be manually calculated. Anyone seen commercial products which gather the data, calculate and display the result? Adding the rear sensor to an existing tach/speedo computer would make a useful gauge.

A trail tech vapor gauge does this already

Front pulley speed is represented by the tachometer.
Rear pully speed is represented by the Speedometer.

This calculator lets the user input the engine RPM and speed in MPH and it calculates the variator ratio.

It is also handy to figure out gear ratios based on tooth count only.

With 7.97:1s and a Giant 97mm Drive Face, Flash 3.2 went 66.3 MPH turning a bit over 10K -

Wheelman's 66.3mph @ 10k shows a variator ratio of 0.92:1 which is not too bad. .085:1 would be ideal for top speed.
