On my stock '85 Aero 50, I'm now seeing a top speed of 35 mph on level road (I weigh in at 230 pounds). It's quick up to about 27, then slowly creeps up. I'd like to get the top speed up to about 40 mph without doing a lot of modding.
Any opinions on this "speed variator" (claim is that "most applications see a 5 - 7 mph increase")?

Thanks in advance!

Stock aero's with me on them,do 40

it would depend a lot on the weights. but as he stated, buy one from vt cycles. either a ddx, or pop pully. not the krs. also you will need a sef ramp plate, and a set of weights.

I contacted Steve at VT Cycles. His recommendation was:
- Hi-Speed Pulley Kit
- 2 sets of roller weights for tuning
- new compression Spring
His price is reasonable, so we'll see how it works.

Finally got around to installing the new parts. Top speed on the flat looks to be right around 40mph (with my 230 pounds aboard). With 8g weights, 0-30mp acceleration is at least as good as stock (maybe a tad quicker), then creeps up slowly up from there.
I had the Tiny Tach lashed up temporarily this afternoon. Looks like the engine spends most of its time between about 4000 and 7000 rpm
Thanks to all of you guys for the suggestions.
Now, any suggestions on an equivalent setup for the Aero 80?
