You were too big for a 250 Ninja anyway......
.....glad to see you standing on it in a pose of triumph......now you need to find a good boxer-bike to park between the 911's, like a Valkyrie.....excuse me while I change pants after seeing the Cobra-jet and the Cyclone.......
.....gotta like a $200 spree that looks like that....well done..........

It's more fun to ride a slow bike fast than a fast bike slow. You just gotta have a sense of humor about it.

The blue one has a stock 155 horse engine and ran right at 90 mph.blackbirdzach wrote:Never been in a fast boat.
The white boat has a competition 2 liter V6 and fan a touch over 132 mph.
My play boats were a little 15 foot 3 point hydro with a 100 horsepower, does just over 65 mph when set up right.
This 16 foot tunnel boat with the same kind of engine as my stock race boat has runs just under 75 mph.

Re: Barn find!
Got the spree running brielfy. It'll run on the stand, but not under load. Need to detail clean the carb over the weekend. Once we got it running there was a squeal from the right side of the motor. The only thing I can guess off the top of my head is a bad crank bearing. We pulled the fan cover off and fired it up on the stand and the squeal is coming from just behind the fan. Boooooo! Updates next week once we get it all pulled apart.
I see a big bore kit in my future.

Hopefully you use factory loads when you carry. Handloads are a sure way to get a lawsuit if you have to use it.Bear45-70 wrote:Very much so, my favorite cartridge. I use these to shoot my handloads with 405 grain cast lead bullets with.

As far as the spree; just been a busy week. Got the top end off and it looks new. Not really any noticeable wear. Had to borrow a puller for the bottom end. Hope to tackle more of it this weekend.

Re: Barn find!
A good buddy of mine did the work for me in his spare time. Wound up replacing both crank bearings (the rod bearing was fine), and replaced all of the necessary gaskets. The top end looked fine, so we left it alone. He cleaned the carb and got it running and riding. We had it running on premix, since we didn't know anything about the oil that was in the oil tank. Tomorrow we'll flush the tank and reconnect the oil pump. We tested the pump and it works fine, we just wanted to make sure there's proper oil in the tank.
