stock carb pilot mod WORKS!

I finally got to try my pilot mod. My testing has been with a stock carb and intake with a K&N stile filter and malossi carbon reeds. Matched up to a 47mm Taiwan PG bore on a AF16

I ran the motor in for 30 miles with the pilot jet drilled out to the .50 bit. I could tell it was way rich on the bottom but seemed great for a mellow breakinn. To adjust it leaner I simply pulled the pilot back out of the carb and pinched it with a vice grips where the pick up tube meets the press in flange. I pinched it twice on 90 deg., like a square to smosh the pilot hole smaller. I instaled it and got very lucky it is spot on the right size with no heat spike what so ever and throttle snap like you would not believe a stock carb could give. This opens up a world of possibilities for the stock carb on big bore's

I have the carb air bypass set at 2 1/2 out I would be glad to help anyone out that would like to try this mod for themselves.

I did the rest of the tuning today and it is running perfect. I have the clip at the top Leanest setting and the main jet is drilled out with a bit that will not fit in a oko 120 but will slide it a 125. So I am running a 122 main I would guess with the pilot mod, and clip in the top with a k&n. I ran for over 1 mile full throttle with a max temp of 335. No heat spike after throttle released promptly after 1 mile run. Running high 40's with 10;1 gears.
