99 Elite S De-Restriction

Post by godfella691981 »

Hello, I was wondering does a 99 elite have the same restrictions as the other years? The only ones I know of are the plate that needs to be removed from the variator and then the muffler has the washer in the tip? Are those the only two restrictions on these?

Greetings:

The airbox inlet may be different - one of 2 holes blocked. Once deristricted, it is very important that you check your carb's main jet. Nothing smaller than 78 should be used at WOT. You may also wish to consider wiring the "throttle" lever on the oil pump so it runs wide open.

I had a 94 Elite S once before and I removed the variator restrictor, and I got right at 40mph out of it. And I never opened that oil pump and had it for well over a year..
My airbox didnt have any restrictions in it though, unless I was looking in the wrong place

the stock elite S has a 68 main jet, the stock elite SR has a 78 main jet, of course mine has the second hole opened up on the air box and im running an 85 main jet. and if you dont buy a split throttle cable then you will need to zip tie your oil pump open
