94 elite SR, vibrates at the bottom when you throttle

Post by walks0nwater »

recently purchased 2 of these bikes and one of them starts to make a weird vibration when you throttle up passed about 25mph(usually but mostly its just a random speed) not sure how to explain it exactly. these bikes have been sitting for about 5 years pretty much and they are just starting to break into being used again. any suggestions on what it could be?

If the engine is 4 stroking from being too rich it will do this.

Check the center stand, it might be vibrating on frame.

I can't believe
that cop put me

when I clearly
called shotgun.

A 2 stroke fires every time the piston comes up in the bore. When a 2 stroke starts 4 stroking it only fires every other time the piston comes up in the bore. Makes the engine run rough.

Check you carb for cleanliness and proper setup. I would check the center stand before I tore into the carb

Download the service manual in the Owners and Service Manual section of the forum. Then look in Wikispreedia here on the forum. Look in the technical section of Wiki for carb cleaning and needle and seat resurfacing.
