85 Honda elite 80cc piston blow.

I saw a 85 elite 80cc said he forgot to put oil and blew the piston, and he want $150 for it, and has title for it. what do you think on this?

talk him down to 100 sounds like a good deal if its in decent shape with a title be like if the piston is blown the cylinder is probably shot or something like that, itll cost so and so for the bore kit and so and so for the labor etc etc it will only do about 45 but its hella reliable. not sure if you can get a big bore for it, not really any aftermarket performance parts but they are really kewl with the trunk in the front like a vw bug

Chances are if he blew up the 4 stroke from lack of oil then the bearings, crankshaft and rod are also bad, otherwise it is a major overhaul involving lots of $$$$.

I go to this guy garage look at it, he took off all body panel, and it's all there, but I take bear's advice and think it may cost too much to fix, when I ready to walk out, he ask if I want the yamaha zuma 1998, running but missing the tail pipe and some nuts and bolt for the panel to put back, we agree on $250 for it, then I find out the kick stand was broke and has no KEY , i'm ready to give up, he offer me the honda all together for $250. done!

now, do anyone know if yamaha will have the key if i give them the vin#?

for the honda, what should i do inspect first? I want to know if it worth to fix? or part it out?

I'd say screw the 80 and get the Zuma. A locksmith can cut a key from the ignition, cost me 25 bucks.

I misread that and thought that he put the body panels back on the Elite and offered it 'all together' for $250.
