A bad, slipping clutch would lit the engine rev way up with no go. Oh it would help to know what scooter you have and what the setup is.

All these scooter use a belt drive. The Spree is a none variated scooter hence the belt does not move up and down in the pulley. The Spree is VERY sluggish off the line because they have no variator (try starting your stick shift car in 4th gear). The top speed will be about 28 to 30 mph and id the belt is slipping you will not go that fast and continue to go slower as the belt wears fast.

Almost as stupid and simple as you are because if the shoes are shot $2.50 ain't gonna get it.

Your take off is snail like because your jugs exhaust port has too much carbon build up. :urban:

Cheap oil and dirty fuel. But I doubt that is your issue. Are you still reaching about 30 mph for a top speed? If so all is NORMAL.

FYI a plug exhaust will kill the top speed long before it effects low speed performance, so don't worry about it.

I am not guessing at Kruzer's problem

I know 100% that it is a plugged exhaust port. His spree is @ my shop. :thumbwink:
