SE50P Turn signal beep?
My 1987 Elite 50/SE50P squeals/beeps from the relay under the instrument panel instead of a signal "click". This is distracting to motorists and annoying to me, is this what it is supposed to do? Can I disable and still have signals? Please advise.

My Aero 80 had the same annoying beeper. I removed it and the signals work just fine. I looked at your wiring diagram and you can just disconnect it and leave it in place or pull it and throw it the parts box, which I did.

Double check the service manual. Honda had discrete clickers on some scooters which could be removed w/o impact to flashing. On those models, the actual flasher is fairly quiet.
If yours is an all in one relay with a loud click, replacement with an aftermarket flasher may be an option.

On top of being annoying when it worked, mine only worked when it was embarrassing to me, otherwise it was quiet.

Re: SE50P Turn signal beep?
It really is like a horn, not a click. Might even be a click in addition to the beep. I would have thought it was shorting out the horn if I didn't hear it coming from the relay area under the speedo.

Re: SE50P Turn signal beep?
Got the beeper removed; a separate unit independent of the blinker relay, a small Archer horn. Funny, one of the leads is spliced in so someone apparently liked it enough to keep it in there. Blinker still clicks like normal. Dare I say, that was easy?
