howdy,
i was out scooting around this morning,
still amazed at how much fun 25 mph can be, (i've been riding dirtbikes, since i was 11 - i just turned 25), seriously unbelievable the 50cc's of fury.
but at any rate i figured the only way to have more fun is to push in and roll on the throttle - well crank on it - and really get down into the turns.
The first hard turn i pushed into it made a scrape noise - and i figured - eh its plastic - who cares -
but then after about a half hour of riding around, and finding out that my float is stuck - or something (its over flowing out the lower side hole) i realized hey am i screwing up my center stand.
so i took a look,
and the center stand was fine.
but the vin number was bent and scraped.
i'm pretty * and i was thinking about making drag blocks, or something to protect the sides.
has anyone done this.
like titainum for throwing sparks - at my leaky carb.
just a thought

I do this all the time; mine's toast from cornering.

You could always hang off the inside, knee out, and thus keep the bike more upright and with a higher cornering speed... where'r my kneepucks?

haha ive lost 3 springs from them scraping when cornering. sucks cause then i got to find somthing to tie the kickstand back up. usualy my shoelace

ha, i still have never scraped the sides of teh ped... but the aero has a screwed up kickstad taht hits the ground on every bum

We used to take the stands off my my sprees so we could lean farther over. We had a couple small tracks set up in parking lots and we would all race eachother. Too bad I sold the sprees . . .

I thought that a Spree racing class would be a hoot. Set up a small track on one of the abandoned parking lots around here. Might encourage some actual performance-enhancing on the Spree.

That sounds sweet! But would modded spree be included or is it for stockers only?

Stock Spree? I'm pretty sure that everyone still running a spree is doing so with help from the salvage yard.

It reminds me of that Johnny Cash song, One Piece at a Time.

"Stock," not "Numbers matching"

"Stock" would be 49cc only up to .5mm overbore, OEM exhaust, intake, and carb, and a spec 2.5" tire. Porting would be allowed on stock parts.

"Unlimited" would be Spree OEM case and single pulley, but that's it. Unrestricted bore, carb, intake, exhaust.
