Metropolitan 1
Looking to make it go faster. It tops out at 40mph currently. Nothing has been derestricted, any suggestions as what to do first?

Here is the restrictor plate ('06-'09 Met-1) Remove it.
new best 1/8th mile time 9.647 seconds @67.155 mph 310lbs total weight

Other than riding my brother's 2003 Met, I know almost nothing about Mets first-hand. However everything I've read leads me to believe the under-carb restrictor is found only on the Moped-legal Metro II. Yes there is a hard speed-limiter Party-Pooper wired in somehow that is not RPM-dependent but signal is from groundspeed. Until that is defeated, making it more powerful may improve acceleration but it just won't go any faster.
TotalRuckus.com has a section devoted to Metropolitan afficionados. Surely their Collective can tell you more.
