Main jet screw

Post by muppet »

After many years of cleaning my carb... i think I finally figured something out..

Whenever I would clean my carb, i would unscrew the screw from the main jet... but I failed to clean the screw...

So.. i could see light when I removed the screw... but not when I had it back in... I took a chance and clean the screw... and *POOF* I could see straight through with the screw in snug...

I hope this helps someone else.. if it does, drop me a line!

CARBURETORS

Post by uspmale »

When you unscrew the main jet, push the brass jet tube from the top of the carb. down with a pin punch the same size as the top of the jet. It's a whole new cleaning procedure that many fail to do. You will find tiny air holes in there to help atomize the fuel in the high speed circuit. Hope this helps.
