Honda Aero 50 Ignition switch alternatives?

Recently some rotten souled, ugly, braindead, worthless sack of crap stole my prized 85 Honda Aero 50 that I spent 2 years fixing up.

Luckily, a week later it was recovered after being towed from an apartment complex. Unfortunately they chiseled out the ignition switch. (and ripped the flawless seat vinyl, and scratched the front up pretty bad. )

I was curious, will a new DIO ignition switch or other kind work? I looked at some used options, but I prefer to replace with new parts if I can.

The 1983 and 1984 use the same switch and the 1985 thru 1987 use the same switch but neither uses the same as any other scooter but that is because of the wiring connector. So you need to find a switch and see if it will physically fit then splice wires for the plug.
