Ho cuz your jets are wayyyy to small. Consider using a 28mm or a 26mm carb instead. Your gonna need bigger jets ffor that carb. Oh and 80mph is out o reach ffor even the almighty corsa. A stroker might be able to push taller gears to get that top speed. Your trans set up is all wrong too. You can't run 9s and 5grams together. You can only go two grams apart on the weights. And mabey try polini naturals with the 1.5k center. Good luck I would hit up red eft performance he has some good malossi bores for cheap

Everyone is different and has different riding styles. So its best to try different set ups. You'll like the polini naturalls with the 1.5k its a real nice set up. Try 6-8gram weightts and play around with them. If your breaking in a new bore and the boostt port is matched I would suggest the needle clip in the middle and 138-142 main 52-55 pilot. Make sure to match boost port and after break in you can mabey move down to 135 main. Be sure to do correct plug chops.br8s

80 mph on 7.5gears is a tall order. :surprise:

try 6.3:1 gears :imo:

a 654 belt will help with top speed (I don't know if this applies to a dd50 or not)
new best 1/8th mile time 9.647 seconds @67.155 mph 310lbs total weight

I made this speed chart based on a dio not a dd50.......I don't know if the gears are the same.

I know a dd50 has a 12" rear wheel.

to the OP, asking a 72 to do 80mph is pretty much null unless you know how to port and tune to make that kind of power. not alot of guys out there can make a 72 go that fast. most of the guys that claim that they can in hawaii is full of it. most of them are kids under the age of 18 and pretty much all of them cant afford the tools to port the bore correctly and let alone how exactly how a 2 stroke works. they only know from watching someone else put a bike together or from stories being told. if you want a more realistic speed for a 72cc setup. shoot for 70mph.

if you want a 70cc kit to do 80mph+ ,get yourself a horzontal minarelli engine and buy the stage6 r/t full kit. thats a 21hp+ kit that will get you to that speed. but look on spending over $1800 just for parts. you will get a record holding 1/8th mile sprint kit. stage6 holds that record for 70cc at a mid 7sec run

you can use a 9to1 gearset to go that fast . 80mph@13000rpm which is a very mild tune for that kit. with the r/t exhaust pipe and that kit, you can tune to 15k no problem and make about 24hp. that should be more than enough to get you to 80mph. or just spend about $500 and build a dio stroker 120cc and go faster.

There's no substitute for cc's, so I don't see downgrading -10cc to 72cc. You'll need every cc you can get to push your speed up when near the top of the range. You might find that it's clapped out by 8000rpm without the extra cc's.
