there is a weld on the halfmoon right where you have it set in the picture, the castle needs to be a few teeth farther. The weld keeps the half moon from moving all the way back, disengaging the castle.

so would i change the position of the half moon gear or the kick out gear?
Change the position of the half moon gear. Rotate it so the engagement point is all on good teeth.

Got the reeds off. Not as bad of fight as I thought it would be. Razor blade did the trick to loosen it up

Also, I think I got the gear of my case positioned properly

Got the head of the motor * and span

Also removed the oil tank and cleaned up the area

Now a few questions.

#1 - what is this square thing with wires and a ground:

Image

#2 - what do a do with these 2 wires that were connected to the oil tank. Im assuming they were for the oil light, but we wont be needing it.

Greetings:

The studs poking through the front plastic are M6 - 6mm. The stock cap nuts have a 10mm hex.

and a tip of the hat to the Wheelman.I was looking at this rather hokey website and they seem to have what i want.

but unlike the wheelman, they do not use metric

The 10mm Hex is just a hair bigger than 3/8, and a bit smaller than 7/16s. I'm pretty sure a 9/16 will be Way too big. I'm all but certain that any SAE nut you try won't work threadwise. Metric nuts aren't all that rare or hard to find. Try the Bolt-and-Screw store in The Bad Part of Town. Why not go with the size that fits for sure?

Now this was kind of touched on before, but im going to fork down some golds today for one. First mod that was suggested to me on here was the ruckus vari. What year ruckus vari would be the best on the AF05e? Im heading to the honda dealership to get one, along with a replacement belt.

So what year of ruckus vari is best? and besides the big gear looking thing, do i need to keep my ramp plate? or does that whole thing get replaced?

Only the movable drive face, ramp plate, and slides get replaced. The roller size is the same as your af05 but the weight will depend on your build.

The nps50 variator is the same for all years. It is the Metro vari that has differences.
