Gearing help
Wassup everyone, I wanted to find out if 7.4to1 gearing or 6.8to1 would be good for my mini stroked set up. I already go 8to1 but not satisfied with it

Re: Gearing help
Greetings:
It's hard to say without knowing the rest of the setup.
I went from 7.98 to 7.58:1 on my Corsa Elite. I'm not sure if the top speed changed any, but the acceleration difference was (slightly) noticeable. If the engine has the ponies to max out the gears, then yes, go taller.

Most of my money is spent on scooterparts. The rest is just wasted.

Re: Gearing help
44.4 crank
50mm bore
Ported af16
Pg long
Kelly Pully, clutch
28 oko
I feel that I could go faster because the 8to1 tops out but not too sure how high I should go

Greetings:
I briefly had 6.3:1 secondaries on my 90cc ministroker. The takeoff suffered badly.
I suggest no taller than 7:1 unless you use a long-belt ZX transmission.

I don't think there'd be that much difference between 6.8 and 7:1 either low-end or top speed. It's 3%. If the 6.8s are straight-cut primaries, the improved efficiency might actually be better - albeit noisier. Going taller to 6.3 the difference is 10 percent, and that was too much even for 90ccs.

Re: Gearing help
been running 7 to1 gears for 5 yrs with my mini stroker, still peaks out to early, porting the tranz to a zx and a koso stage-6 clutch may do it.
some people dream of speed, i own your dreams!
Re: Gearing help
So the zx trans is way better than the s trans??
Re: Gearing help
