Now you're talkin', kev. Have you applied any paint to this frame?...or just cleaned?.
I'm happy to see this in such pristine condition. Thank you for being a fanatic with your bikes.... :urban:
Glad it has found such a responsible owner..... :thumbwink:

Hello, MotorMike
This restoration is the 4000+ mile Gyro and I stripped it down to the frame
sand blast and sprayed the frame. I made new leading fork bushings for the
front end. I also took down the two speed transmisson and cleaned and
inspected the clutches. I am waiting for a new ring set for the engine. Also
repairing all body plastic needs. I guess you could say a complete restore.
I will be posting more pics of this. The 250 mile Gyro I repaired the starter
and wiring and it cleaned up perfect.

Looking real fine there Kev

How'd the poor starter require repair so soon into its life?

It is hard to say which may for happened first but, the starter relay power contact was shorted
togather and the starter armature had shorted turns. This in turn distroyed the starter wiring from
the battery to the starter, lucky there was not a fire started.

The system overload failure almost certainly happened when previous owners used jumper cables from a WAY TOO BIG source, dont you think? ......I do.......Okay, kev...when you are ready to venture into the parallel dimension of GYRO "S" model. give me a call. My supply of bikes could always stand some thinning.....rock-on.

Question ?
Does anyone know how many 85-86 Gyro S were sold in USA ?
Also what was the price ?
I have heard stories in 87 dealers that had old Gyro stock couldn't sell them and they were going for under $400.00 to get rid of them
Its just what someone told me . Truth or fiction I don't know ?

I have to agree Gyros were not sold in Canada .
Although I do know one was sold on Ebay to some guy in Winnipeg Manitoba .
He probably had it shipped to the Great White North and I did see a youtube video of him driving it on a snow covered street .
But I do not belive Gyros were ever sold in Canada in 84-86.
I was in Mexico and met a stripper please see photo .

Portland might be possible this year. I have made two in the past. One gargantuan scooter meet....i'm a cushman truckster fan bigtime....have owned three...I'll check for a link if it has been planned yet...usually late summer, August i'm thinking. Glad you mentioned it...... :urban:
EDIT:...found the date July 9-13 for the Portland meet.
