Yes. They were dedigned to have about 1/3 to 1/2 the power of the standard 50. It was basically the entry level scooter of its day.lovemyelite50 wrote:Are the scoots normally really slow?

Re: Elite 50
Greetings:
No need for the multiple threads, Elite Lover. Your "Elite 50" title is confusing. (Actually it's Honda's nomenclature that's confusing...) Your SB50 engine is based heavily on its Spree forerunner, repackaged in more-late-80s styling. It'll never be superfast or quick off the line because of its nonvariated belt drive and low-output engine specs. With low compression it's even slower. Putting things back to stock spec with a top-end refresh and perhaps a muffler clean-out should restore its normal performance.

Re: Elite 50
brake hones will chip the port windows. they will also make the edges sharp on the port windows so you will have to shamfer them with a dremel. use a flex ball hone so you dont have to worry about chipping the port windows and it will shamfer the port windows for you while honing the cylinder at the same time.b.ludwig wrote:i hone my own use a brake caliper honer its perfect for a 5occ jug

Re: Elite 50
I weigh about 170, and it's so slow I half to almost push with my legs until I get to 10 mph. Is that normal? What's the weight limit for one of these.
